REVIEWS of TENDING BEN'S GARDEN
“… please know that I found Tending Ben’s Garden to be easily one of the best portrayals of the Great Depression...that I have read in my eight years as a teen librarian.”
Randy Ernst-Meyer, West Bloomfield Twp. Public Library
"I found ( Tending Ben's Garden ) to be very entertaining. Your depiction of the Depression years in Michigan is very interesting and gives the reader a strong insight on the hardships that plagued the American family. Ben was a special boy and the love shown for him by his siblings was touching...The epilogue was touching and ended the love story full circle..." Renee Norred, Librarian
Cranbrook Middle School Boys' Campus
"My name is Jan Wild and I am a member of the Libres group. I was sent your book Tending Ben's Garden . All I can say is WELL DONE!! I loved the book...I loved Kate's determination... The special bond they share is pure in the sense that Kate adored Ben for who he was. She understood him (Ben) better than anyone else, and accepted him for the unique person he was. That love jumps out from the pages…It's heartwarming and heart wrenching. I love that in a story, I want to feel emotion when I read, and I certainly got that from your book.
I would definitely recommend this book to everyone I know.
Sincerely,
Jan Wild
